- WebSpace Author is a new product, so this section discusses
- additional features which you might not know about. See
- Chapter 4, "Known Bugs and Workarounds" for information on
- known problems with this release.
-
- You should also know that there is a complete WebSpace home
- site, which has a page called "What's New". This site can
- be updated after we release this software to you, so it is a
- good place to look for late-breaking news and updates. The
- URL is http://webspace.sgi.com/WebSpaceAuthor/index.html
-
- +o Sample data is now installed with
- webspace_author.data.sample. Look in
- /usr/share/data/models/webspace for several interesting
- files, especially simpleFloor.wrl, fixerUpper.wrl, and
- patioDepot/patioDepot.wrl. fixerUpper.wrl is intended
- to be a starting place for your own home world, and
- also an exercise: try building the house on the left
- from the parts on the right.
-
- +o We strongly recommend that you install the optional
- data subsystems mentioned in Chapter 1, Installation
- Information -- Prerequisites. These subsystems contain
- a very large collection of sample 3D data as well as
- texture maps. Because these data subsystems are not
- installed by default, you will want to read the
- instructions in Chapter 1 to find out how to install
- those subsystems.
-
- +o "3D File Translators 1.1" adds automatic translation
- from other 3D file formats when you install the
- xlators_3d product. The 1.1 release of 3D File
- Translators Currently supports DXF, Alias, Obj, SLA,
- and Softimage formats.
